What We Do

Worship

Our worship is joyful. We use several worship settings including specially written liturgies.  Variety in worship is important to us.

We have a senior choir and a junior choir.  Special music is a ministry which many of our people offer.

Each Sunday there is an object lesson message for the younger children.

Our sermons capture the heart of Scripture and relate that message to modern living.  Our sermons speak to the young and the old.

Education

We have Sunday Church School for ages 3 through High School.

Our 7th and 8th graders participate in our confirmation classes with the pastor.  Confirmation is not "dead" at St. Paul's.

Adult classes are offered on Wednesday evenings in October and May.

Youth Ministry

Our Youth programs combine monthly activities, retreats, and service projects.

We have five youth groups:

Red Basket Kids, age 3-grade 3;  Acolytes, grades 4-6;   Confirmands, grades 7-8;

High School, grades 9-12; and GRADS, post high school

Pastoral Care

Our parish is divided into twelve geographic clusters.  This helps us care for each other and support our phone chain.  Our clusters gather in Advent and Lent for Cluster devotions.

Visitation is an important part of our parish.  Everyone is special.  Special days and events in the lives of our people are recognized and celebrated.

Outreach

Every two months the parish is involved in an outreach activity such as collecting household goods for the local shelters or raising money for world hunger.

Each year the Sunday Church School selects a project.  In the past the children have selected Habitat for Humanity, the heifer Project, and ELCA special projects.

Fellowship

The church year is filled with parish activities including two picnics, Advent wreath making, a Seder-potluck, a carnival, an Easter breakfast, Muffins for Mom, and Donuts for Dad.

Special activities for the children include a Fun House, a Halloween party, and a Christmas party.
