This Week at St Paul's

Our annual craft fair is on Saturday, November 3 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

In September and October we will be collecting items for school kits which the Acolyte Group will package in November. Since many of those items will be on sale in the next few weeks with the upcoming Back to School specials, I am posting the list early just in case any one would like to pick up some items while they are on sale or already out shopping for their own children.

Also, if this is new for you, please know that you don't need to buy one of everything and make a complete kit. You just donate what you can ... 3 notebooks and a ruler, for example, and the Acolyte Group will sort out all of the donations and make up the kits.

Please read the list below as the items have changed some from the last time we collected for school kits, as has the bag design.

Four 70-sheet notebooks ... no loose-leaf paper
One 30-centimeter ruler, or a ruler with centimeters on one side and inches on the other
One pencil sharpener
One blunt scissors (safety scissors with embedded steel blades work well)
Five unsharpened #2 pencils with erasers
Five black or blue ballpoint pens (no gel ink)
One box of 16 or 24 crayons
One 2 eraser

All kits will need to be packaged in a sturdy drawstring backpack-style cloth bag approximately 14 X 17 with shoulder straps (no standard backpacks) . If you would like to make any bags, here is a link to a pattern.  The drawstring backpack can also be purchased from by following this link

Reminder that our Sunday Church meets on the following schedule from September through mid May: ages 3 through 3rd grade meet each Sunday.  On the first, fourth, and fifth Sundays the children begin the day in worship and go downstairs after the Red basket lesson.  On the second and third Sundays the children begin downstairs.  The 4th grade through high school meet each Sunday (except the first Sunday) after the sermon.

Our on-going collection of non-perishable single use items for the community meals continues.  The high school class prepares the takeout meals four times a year.  Our goal is 1,000 bags a year.  A good source of food items is the Dollar Tree store in Greenfield.  The high school class will packaged 200 meal last Sunday.   Thank you!
